Udayana Physics Serves the Wana Segara Kertih Fisherman Group in Kedonganan Village, South Kuta, Badung
Physics Study Program of Universitas Udayana is consistently active in carrying out community service activities (PkM). This PkM activity was carried out in Kedonganan Village, South Kuta, Badung. This activity involved the Wana Segara Kertih fishermen group. This PkM activity takes the form of planting mangrove seedlings (Rhizophora sp.). This activity received appreciation from the head of the local fishermen group, namely I Ketut Sutarma. He stated that protecting the coastal environment is very important to avoid coastal erosion. Mangrove trees have the function of providing oxygen and storing carbon, as well as absorbing nitrogen and phosphorus which are dangerous at high levels for coastal ecosystems.
